I am sure this has been covered before but I couldn't locate the thread. I will be purchasing an iPhone 3gS next week and want to turn my iPhone 2g into an iPod and give it to my nephew (he just stepped on his iTouch screen last week and broke it). Do I need to remove the Sim card and jailbreak it? Or do I just leave the Sim card in and can he just plug it into his computer run iTunes and load all of his music onto it? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Just take out the SIM and that's all. No jailbreaking, no nothing. Oh, and sync with iTunes to get the songs you need;)

Another way would be to find someone with an iPod Touch and ask them to swap! I'd say yes!

just wave you wand over it an say "become itouch"

unless of course you want it to be an ipod touch and then there is a different process.
