Is this just spam or am I going to have to salvage this by making up the explanation that you want Apple's turn-by-turn voice to be Yakov Smirnov? "In Soviet Russia, road drives one point five keel-oh-meters and den turns left to YOU!"

J JadawinUK macrumors member Dec 28, 2008 #10 I'd like to have Leonard Nimoy as Spock... "It would be logical to turn left now." "Turn right in 101,346383 meters!" Or maybe even Shatner "Take. The. Third. Exit. Intheroundabout!" Or Darth Vader (when not driving as suggested) "I find your lack of faith disturbing!"

kdarling Contributor Dec 29, 2008 #11 Seriously, Apple probably won't choose the voice. It'll be up to the company that makes the app. What's ridiculous, is that there's nothing major yet for the iPhone, but TeleNav is now even out for the Storm (read here). And yep, $10 a month... without having to pay Verizon royalties either, like they'd have to do with Apple.

I too agree that's stuff starting to take a bit of a while to come out. Push and turn-by-turn GPS sound like summer '09 things now. And honestly, it wouldn't shock me with we didn't get either ....
