Is this possible? I want Dolby Atmos music on, but want to turn the head tracking off as it's distracting. If I turn of spatial audio it turns off dolby too.

Turning off spatial audio shouldn't turn off Dolby Atoms. I turn of spatial audio in control center on songs all the time and they still report as playing in Atmos.

I think the action you’re doing turns off ambulation with an iOS or the headphones that support it, not from the audio source
Wouldn't that be the same thing? Or are you also trying to disable Atmos?

If you want spatial head-tracking the option should be on. If you don't want spatial head-tracking but you still want to listen to Dolby Atmos, it should be off.

Thanks for this tip! The head tracking was annoying me too!
Love the spatialise stereo feature- and it’s likely to get better as this is just first beta.
it’s more pronounced difference in the AirPods Pro than max I find, as I guess in-ears will sound more compressed and the spatial makes it sound so much wider, whereas the max sound is already pretty wide, as the spatialise feature just slightly enhances it. The spatialise stereo makes the Pros sound amazing imo, night and day for me

I don;t think that's correct...spatial audio being on is what let's you hear Atmos.

And as far as I know, just because the song is marked as Atmos or Lossless does not mean you are or are not hearing it as such. You have to have the proper headphones and spatial audio turned on.

I’m thinking that maybe it’s a bug that head tracking works while just playing music (?). I’ve reported it. It’ll be interesting to see what they say.

That’s right! They’re just labels, but people have to turn on the settings to hear the actual Dolby track. I do hope they move the head tracking settings to music instead of accessibility though.

I went into Accessibility > AirPods and turned off Follow iPhone. This disabled the head tracking for music but left the Dolby Atmos setting on. This does disable it for video also so just a warning.
Thank you! Found this feature so annoying, I created this account just to say thanks!
