I am sure there is a thread somewhere on this, but I have not had any luck finding it yet...

So, how do i turn off / quit my iPod in 3.0? you used to be able to hold the home button to force quit, but not now....

Yeah, force quitting every time is sort of ridiculous. I don't see any advantage to it.

    • now there is a different way to force quit apps. now you have to hold the sleep/wake button until the red slider appears, then you hold down the home button to quit the app (found by magnum0pus)

Ok, I see what I was doing wrong here...I was trying to follow that but not holding the home button long enough.

    thanks

The ipod can chew up memory, so force quiting the program can free up some of that memory.

i dont force quit every time, but do when I do not plan to use the iPod for some time.
