Hello! I’ve looked everywhere for a solution but can’t find one and there may not be a solution.

But I have a new iPhone 16 pro max. It has a dedicated camera button. I’ve gotten rid of the annoying little widget on the Home Screen for the camera. But I also want to get rid of the swipe left to camera because I always accidentally engage it AND I now have a dedicated camera button. I absolutely don’t need to swipe left for camera.

Is it possible, somewhere in the settings, to get rid of this annoying “feature”?

I like you have a look at the camera settings in settings every update to see if they have done something about this!!! I even send my feedback via twitter and their feedback app and still nothing. The amount of times I’ve activated the camera as I put it in my pocket and the battery drains 😩

Yep just been thinking this, it’s shameful of Apple to think we need this perm on by default!

They should allow us the option to turn this off in settings

Some geek in Apple in charge of Camera software probably digging their heels in…..😤

I despise this so-called "feature" so much. I mostly accidentally activate it when swiping away notifications. I used to have it activate sometimes in my pocket as well, but don't seem to have that issue anymore at least.

For the love of all that is good please, at least, disable the camera from opening when the flashlight is on, even from the button. Give me that setting to toggle that ability. Please!

I have only ever once wanted to open the camera while the flashlight is on. Once I found I can’t keep the flashlight on while the camera app opened, I have never again desired that feature.

Now all it serves is to annoyingly turn off the flashlight when I don’t want it to. In fact, the action button actually annoyingly won’t turn the flashlight off when the phone is locked and face down, and I want it to, but that camera button will when I accidentally brush it the wrong way.

Since it can’t be disabled, I just disabled the Camera button on my iPhone 16 since it can be accidentally triggered where it’s not wanted and has been loads. Hopefully many users are the same, Apple sees it in their user data, and scraps it. Such an android feature. And the stupid action button too, bring back the switch.

Even just a slight swipe will turn the flashlight off and it’s really annoying. You can get rid of the camera button on the lock screen, but it changes nothing which makes it ridiculous that there even is the camera button on the Lock Screen in the first place lol. Also you can’t require a passcode for the camera, but every other app you can.
