Or you could just long press the Home button to open the Control Center and it's right there...If you share your Apple TV with others and want to switch profiles manually, you can still access profile options by going to Settings ➝ Users and Accounts and selecting a different user profile from there.
For this feature to be properly useful it needs a few tweaks
1) when switching users it needs to go back to the Home Screen rather than the last app that my son was watching.
2) it could do with Netflix style profile locks with a pin AND the ability to disable specific apps for restricted (ie kid) accounts.
1 is just annoying. Without 2 it is mostly pointless.
My friends Apple TV has a bug (on 26.2) where if she clicks the option to disable this, it recognizes the click, and nothing happens. Click again, and it turns off. However the setting doesn’t actually change, and when you come back to the menu, it’s back on. She literally can’t disable it lol.
When people on here complain about the Software QA, this is the type of things they’re talking about. We’ve tried everything, she would most likely have to reset the Apple TV to get this setting to work
Aha! That’s the glitch! It does change when clicking the first time, but it doesn’t visibly change. Good catch. Thanks!I have this bug too. You have to click on it only once. It appears that the option has not changed, but it has. Go back in the menu and then enter it again, and you will see, that it has switched to "disabled".
I’m using the AppleTV attached to an Amazon Fire TV screen and then I can use that remote. Works great!Apple finds the remote sucks as well, hence them creating a new design with every new AppleTV.

Now to get rid of the “turn the Apple TV” off choice every time it turns on🤦♂
