Turn off voice instructions for navigation

Hi all

I have just fitted carplay to my VW truck and I absolutely love it, however I have one small problem. When using navigation in maps I can't stop Siri giving voice commands. In settings on my iPhone I set navigation voice volume to no voice however when I reconnect the phone it goes back to normal volume. Anyone got any ideas ?

On the top of the maps app on CarPlay, on the top left there's a little speaker button. Just push that and it'll mute the voice instructions while still doing the turn by turn on the screen.
