Is there a way to turn on phone throttling even if maximum capacity is over 80%?
To slow down battery degradation
No, it's automatic.
Maybe there is some jailbreak app to do that, but otherwise, no.
Low Power Mode does this, not sure how different it would be to the battery throttle though.
Agree with Paddle1, keep your phone in Low Power Mode. My Geekbench score is much lower when Low Power Mode is ok because the CPU is throttled.
Wouldn’t it be just better to replace your battery every 3-4 years for $79 (cheaper now?)...and not worry? I have Smart Battery case...so, even when it is worn, i still have plenty of juice.
How much is it throttle? I can’t tell day today what the performance difference are when on lower power mode.
You should to revive the battery .
Just replace it once it's degraded enough.... what the problem?
As someone said, Low Power Mode does this.
I've run my 8 Plus in Low Power Mode from launch and Battery Health is 89%. So not sure how much of a real difference it makes.
You’re overthinking this.
Reminds me of all the "will leaving my iBook plugged in all the time ruin its battery" threads
Ever since Apple said they throttle too many people have been obsessing with the battery.
Just use your phone normally, the battery is gonna wear regardless.
