Feel like this used to be Turner's corner. TCM was THE authority for classic movies for years. And they let FilmStruck beat them to this by at least two years. And even then this requires a traditional cable sub.

Again, they didn’t let Filmstruck beat them... they ARE Filmstruck.

The above makes no sense:
"Here’s another TV programmer that wants to sell you TV, over the web, without signing up for a pay TV bundle: Time Warner’s Turner is going to launch an on-demand service for movie buffs next fall.

Turner has a name for the service — FilmStruck — and says it will be managed by the people behind its Turner Classic Movies network. It’s supposed to feature an “eclectic mix of contemporary and classic art house, indie, foreign and cult films."
Now Turner wants to sell you a web video service, too

"FilmStruck is a film streaming service from Turner Classic Movies which caters to cinephiles and focuses on rare, classic, foreign, arthouse, and independent cinema."

Filmstruck

You don't even need to reference the links above, it's right there in the main article:
Watch TCM differs from Turner Classic Movies' film streaming service "FilmStruck" since it connects to your pre-existing cable subscription. FilmStruck is a standalone subscription service ...

People are complaining about certain apps not being able to be signed into with DTVN, go back and check periodically. AMC app I was able to sign into yesterday for the first time. Badlands binge, oh yeah.

I feel like an a$$hat now lol but I’m glad I’m wrong. They should be the ones to do it.

Thanks for the comprehensive tear down of my misinformed post. I’m glad to be wrong — Turner should be the one anyway so this is a good thing. I’ve been eyeing starting a free trial to test it I’m a moderate classic movie fan.

This is a winner already. Downloaded it and told the husband, and he said “there’s a movie I’ve wanted to get but it’s not on DVD anywhere”. A quick voice search, and bingo, we’ll be watching “Women in the Wind” tonight.
Well, not so much of a winner after all. What it pulled up was only the trailer.

And, this isn’t all movies on demand. Only the ones they’ve played recently are available for about a month - the movies expire. But still a good deal if you keep up with what they’ve got.

thanks for that link; helpful! Most important for me was activating HBO GO, with a better selection than the included HBO on DTV NOW basis (with AT&T wireless plus)
