I have been reading that you have to turn apps (like ipod) off to save power when not using them.

How do you know when they are on or off? If you come out of ipod and there is no music playing surely it is off - no?

your able to tell if its running in the background if there is a play button on the top right corner of the status bar, if its not in sure and/or paused it will close itself a few minutes after. As for other apps from the app store i woudnt worry about because they cant run in the background at all.
