Turning in your old phone

IUP member here. I’m picking up the iPhone X this Friday at my local Apple store. My question is how does it work when I turn in my old iPhone? Is it inspected? Will they charge me for any kind of scratch or mark?

I believe as long as it is fully functioning they will accept it. They won’t charge you for normal wear and tear.

Last year they just wanted to make sure it worked. I think they are interested in the insides more than the case
