Gang: I just got a new M3 MBA. When I airdrop to my Mac Mini (running Ventura) I get a noise and then a window showing the downloaded file. When I airdrop to my MBA, I get a noise, and then a notification banner that won't go away until I am forced to manually click on it. I'd much prefer the former to the latter, but can't find the way to change this via notifications or airdrop settings on the new machine.

How do I get the behavior the same on both macs? Anybody got a command line fix?

SO, had a support ticket with an Apple senior-level support tech today. They took control of my screen and we successfully Air-dropped some files with the notification becoming a banner rather than an alert, so it disappeared on it's own each time. That lasted for about three more file transfers. When I airdropped a folder, the old problem resurfaced, and a persistent alert stayed until I manually removed it. Back the to drawing board. :(

Are you signed into iCloud on both devices using the same Apple ID? It seems odd it started working for a while and then quit working, unless you're switching between user accounts or devices.

Both devices need to be signed into iCloud using the same Apple ID in order to have it auto-accept. Outside of that, there is no setting you can set.

If you send an item from one device to another (for example, from your iPhone to your Mac), and you’re signed in to iCloud using the same Apple ID on both devices, the item is automatically accepted and saved.

Yep, same ID. I think it's most strange that it immediately worked as expected when I was sharing my screen with the tech. Related/Unrelated: My new mac doesn't appear as my name and model, only my name. Does Apple prioritize the newest model at all times?
