Folks:
When I shut off my TV, the Apple TV 4K stays on for a while. This is a problem because I want to play music but when the Apple TV eventually turns off, it shuts down the receiver (and therefore the music) as well. If I could shut off the Apple TV, I would not have this issue. Please advise.
Thanks,
Mike

No problem.
Go to settings:
Remotes and Devices:
Scroll down to
Home Theater Control:
Turn on your TV with remote: Set to off
Problem solved.

On a different note if you want to instantly put ATV 4K to sleep.
Press & hold Home Button until pop up screen appears.
Approximately 1 to 2 seconds.
Select Sleep

In my system, ATV audio is connected to my receiver by standard RCA audio cables. Video is connected to TV HDMI input. When I want to switch back cable TV, I turn off the TV, and receiver, then the ATV turns off fairly quickly. The I use my Harmony remote to turn on TV (switches to proper HDMI input) and receiver, receiver input is switched to cable input. ATV has no effect on receiver. I use iPhone app to control ATV, hate the Apple remote. Do have your ATV hooked up to your receiver with an HDMI cable? That will turn off receiver.
