I read an article just in the last week or so, that the author said you can now (iOS ver. 26? 26.4? 26.5?) turn on and off DND thru Siri something like this: "Hey Siri turn on do not disturb until 5 AM". It doesn't work for me; it turns DND on, but never turns it off. Does this ring a bell with anyone or know how to make it work? Or do I need to wait for 26.5?

It can be toggled on/off with Siri, but I am not sure if it will respect the additional parts of your commands. That might get better with Gemini in iOS 27 though. Try a simple "Siri, turn do not disturb off." If that is not working, go to your focus settings and try toggling share across devices on or off.

Thanks @HouseLannister for the reply. Share across devices was off, I toggled it on - not sure how that effects Siri though.

More examples of what fails - I turn DND on with Focus. Then "Hey Siri, turn do not disturb off in 10 minutes" - turns it off immediately.

"In 5 minutes turn off do not disturb" - turns it off immediately

Yep. Siri is pretty bad at multi-part commands. It understood on/off and that's it.

I frequently need a cooking timer and would love to be able to ask something like "create a 30 minute timer and remind me when there are five minutes remaining" so I can check to make sure things aren't burning during the last few minutes, but rather than creating two timers, Siri just creates a 35 minute timer. That's where the Gemini integration is (hopefully) going to help at taking normal human speech and converting it into multiple system commands. We shall see.

@HouseLannister I thikn multiple commands/questions at once is something coming out in the next big rollout.

I wish I could find that article where the author said he did it and it works great. Oh well.
