Turning off Touchpad?

Can someone tell me if there is a way to turn off the touchpad on a macbook? I recently bought a wireless mighty mouse and now since I have a mouse, I just want to turn off the touchpad just in case I accidently swipe my hand over it. It's not a big deal, but it's nice to have it off since I already have a mouse.
 
Under system prefrences click on mouse and keyboard. Select the trackpad tab and at the bottom check off "ignore trackpad when mouse is present."
