Turning off Verizon temporarily

Is there a way to turn off the Verizon connection to the iPad 2 when I am home and can use my home WIFI?

Your iPad should automatically switch to WiFi when it is connected even if you still see Verizon in the upper left. If you see the WiFi symbol instead of 3G you should be good.
