Turning translucency off. Does it help with GPU?

    Wondering if anyone is has noticed better navigation throughout OS X with turning translucency off. Is it better for GPU performance? like higher frame rates if its off?

    Nope, turning translucency off has no effect on the graphics performance on my late-2013 rMBP.

    Yes, on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro. But it's not as noticeable as I thought it would be

    Sorry for the dumb question, but - you can turn off the translucency? How?

    oops - edit - I see you can "reduce" it in System Preferences > Accessibility > Display
