As for the method itself, don't hold your breath, though. This approach isn't a bulletproof solution, and the chances it will work are very slim. In my case, on Mavericks, I was able to log into my FT account, but all test calls to and from my iOS device were dropped. On Lion, the event horizon didn't extend even past failed verification attempts, and so it refused to walk me to the FT account main view.

hm, sorry to hear that. it works fine for me on mavericks even to ios 26. however, i do remember that i was unable to make any outgoing calls for a while, then one day it just fixed it self out of nowhere. do incoming calls work for you? i've also revised the instructions, as my first tutorial was a mess and contained many unneccesarily complicated steps.
 
Old or revised, your instructions boil down to the same algorithm and lead to the same outcome, which is logging in to an FT account. I achieved that. So, your tutorial worked, only without the expected benefits.
