Thanks Jon. I will give Tuxera a try. I was using MacFUSE on Snow Leopard but removed it when I was having trouble with my PogoPlug. I had been leaning towards Paragon, but after reading your experience with it I'll give Tuxera a try.

Thanks for the tips guys. I also am planning to buy Tuxera now that I'm having issues with Lion but am hoping that there will be a discount coupon or something to that effect. I mentioned this in another thread:

In light of the MacFUSE/NTFS-3G combo not being that friendly with Lion, I've decided to buy either Paragon or Tuxera. Can't seem to find any online coupons for either unfortunately and they are both pretty closely priced.

Paragon NTFS is $34.95usd for 3 Macs in one household whereas Tuxera is $34.43aud for one person in one household on as many Macs as they own. The only thing which annoys me about Paragon is that it feels 'cheapened' by the fact that they've done so many half price days and giveaways over the years, that it makes me want to buy Tuxera because a) it's priced as a premium product and offers a lifetime key (which presumably doesn't apply to the discount licences offered by Paragon); and b) I've greatly benefitted from their community-focussed free NTFS-3G in the past

"Tuxera’s licensing model is one person = one license. With one license you can copy the software to your every personal computer. So it is enough to have one license to install the software on your three Macs at home. But if you have a three-person company, you need three licenses, one for every person.

The license key is forever license which means that you can use the license key for all future Tuxera NTFS for Mac products. Please note, this may be a time-limited possibility."

Awe man! I just dropped $20 on Paragon this morning for my Mac Air. It worked immediately and was drop-dead-simple to set up. I pulled the trigger after reading that it could format NTFS partitions (and I assume this includes external HDs but haven't yet tried). All in all I don't regret the purchase and I prefer to pay for software when possible. I'm sure the freeware is great but it was the above comment about licensing philosophies that made we with I had given Tuxera a better look. For personal use, I think one license should = one user, regardless of how many computers one owns. Anyway, Paragon worked as advertised so far with no complaints.

Cheers
