TV app seems very buggy

Not sure about anyone else's experience, but the TV app seems very buggy for me. I get most of my TV from the iTunes Store, store it locally on my home desktop, and sync the shows that I want to watch in the near future to my iPad/iPhone (this way I can watch without having to worry about data caps or having a cell connection). Now viewing my local content on my iOS device has become more convoluted, the app doesn't tell me how many unmatched episodes of each show I have, and getting to an episode requires more taps than before.

On top of the general UI usability issues, the app is constantly locking up, weird "ghost" episodes seem to be appearing in my library that can't be viewed or removed, and switching from portrait to landscape and vice versa causes the video to shift off screen and get stuck there.

Overall these are issues that I would expect in a beta, but I am shocked that they made it into the released 10.2... Is anyone else seeing these, or are most people happy with this app over the old videos app?

I think they're on to something here - I watch a lot of shows on supported apps like Hulu, Showtime, and HBO. A single 'pane of glass' to see all content is great.

However, it appears that they missed something so obvious - once you add a show to your 'watchlist', there is no way to mark episodes in the show as 'watched'. The whole point of the app is that I want to see 'new' episodes of a given show (including badges/notifications for new episodes). Not only can I not go in and mark episodes as watched, but even watching them via the TV app doesn't seem to 'dismiss' them as watched.

Very true. I like the concept of what they are trying to do, but not being able to easily track what I've watched is frustrating. Also there need to be profiles. Between myself, my wife, and my kids, there are several people with different tastes in media watching on the same account, and we don't want to all share the same up next queue.

This new app is garbage. How it ever made it out of Cupertino I'll never understand.
