Hi,

I have one of the slightly older macs (Dec 08), and a screen which takes only RCA and S-Video inputs. I've already bought a Mac-VGA adapter from Apple, which works fine on other applications, and I bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002OC97N8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00VGA-S-Video Adapter together with a male-male S-Video cable to connect it to the screen. However this doesn't work and the display detects no input when I try it. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong and how I can connect the mac properly?

Thanks,

Adam

Are that S/Video Cable and TV both known to be working? Can you watch anything else through S/Video on the TV, and have you used that cable with anythign else to make sure it's working?

Does your Mac Display control panel let you set NTSC S-Video output? If not, the adapter you bought will not work.

The adapter you purchased is a purely passive adapter which can only work if your video card sends an S-Video signal through its VGA connector.
