Does this not work in the beta yet? Or do we have to wait for a youtube update or something? Beta installed fine, but cant seem to get any 4k youtube to play.

Even if they do include 4k YouTube support, will it support DV and HDR? I really don't know.

4k is nice but it's the DV/HDR that may have a bigger impact of video quality.

you need an updated app, which probably won't release until the official release of the OS, I'm not sure if Apple allows apps that need the beta OS into the App Store.

Just because apple allows something to happen, if the app hasn't been coded for it, it won't be there.

Which Shield?

I have a 2017 Shield and it does 4k with Google Movies which is great for viewing your Google library. I have never used YouTube on my Shield.

The only one I have seen for sure does not support it is the latest version. Lot's of complaints about it.

Probably not since YouTube 4K was explicitly mentioned in the Keynote, a contract/agreement was likely involved.
