LG C2. Same panel as the Sony at a lower price point. I have an LG and a Sony OLED. 48” For the bedrooms Purchased them specifically to compare the two before I replace the last LED in the house. The Sony is glitchy with the AppleTV. Had to shut off match frame rate on the Sony as it hangs up when it switches formats. No such issue with the LG. I’ll be buying another LG. The Sony is getting relegated to the guestroom.

Calibration settings for the LG are below:

I bought a 60 inch Panasonic TX-PZT60 back in 2013 and still have it setup in my media room downstairs as my main ”movie watching“ TV for my blu ray collection. Even though it’s 1080P, it’s just an awesome TV….said to be the best Plasma TV Panasonic ever made and it’s still a joy to watch!

On the main floor I’ve got a 55 inch 2017 LG C7 OLED that is fantastic. I’m a big fan of OLED’s as they have the inky blacks and great off axis viewing as my Panasonic Plasma.

I just bought for the bedroom a 48 inch LG A2 ($569 from Best Buy…early Black Friday sale). It’s a step down from the LG C2, but it’s not a huge step down in picture quality. It’s still got the OLED inky blacks and fantastic color. It’s not as bright as the C2 EVO panels…for HDR content. But…it looks fantastic!. Very happy with it. The 55 inch version of the LG A2 is on sale most everywhere now for $899. That’s another one the OP could consider if they want a bigger OLED than the 42 inch C2….while still staying under $1,000.

My aging Panasonic 50” plasma TV from 2010 is still going string but I am expecting it to reach end if life at some point. I am not an audiophile or an expert of television technology and I am not looking for absolute perfection when I replace the tv. I just want a good quality picture for standard terrestrial programmes, Netflix, movies, streaming via Apple TV and PS5 gaming so I am looking at 80” to 85” inch 2022 tv’s. The OLED LG’s are eye wateringly expensive so I wonder if the Neo QLed Samsungs might meet my needs as a good all rounder.
