I just installed and setup the apple remote to control my music playback on my Apple tv. However, the album art on the remote is so fuzzy you really can't tell from the artwork what album is playing. Nor does the watch give you indication what song is playing. Is this just bad design, limitations of the product, or what?

Or, is it a problem with my apple watch or some wrong setting someplace???

This is what it looks like controlling my iTunes on my mac (think it should be the same):

btw - the artist/song doesn't update if you're controlling iTunes Radio - but I'm guessing they won't fix that, as they'll eventually be killing off iTunes Radio.

nope. that's not what I get. Here's what it looks like for me (the album image, in this case, is the Beatles Revolver album and it's taken with my iPhone so there's some weird moire thing going on there):

Ok, so I grabbed my ATV and connected it up so I could verify. Yep, that's what you should see (unfortunately).

Here's meatloaf's bat out of hell playing on my ATV:

Kind of sucks. Granted, you've got the album art up on the TV screen and you're LISTENING to it- so you know what's being played, but it sure seems like fuzzing out the album art is kind of odd and very un-apple like.

But, once I figured out how to use the watch to control my apple tv, I doubt I'll be using the actual remote much at all! It's not very intuitive, at least for me, the menu button IS the menu button on the remote. And then you swipe up and down on the screen to scroll the menu choices on the tv. Once I figured it out it all made sense and I'm liking it....except for the fuzzy album art.

I do wish the digital crown would control the menu choices for scrolling as well.

There's a lot of rumours about how big a part the ATV may play in Apple's plans (eg. possibly home kit orchestration) - expect the remote app to become more robust - while it's been suggested the next ATV will ship with a nice bluetooth remote, it's also been suggested the means to control it will be the enhanced remote app. :)

Well....and Siri of course. :)

The remote app certainly seems like a work in progress, however I think so far it's implementation is awful. The screen on my watch is far too small to be useful for navigating my ATV with any ease. Siri should have been the way to go with this from the start. It's frustrating that I can control the music app on my iPhone using Siri on my Apple watch yet not be able to do the same with the ATV.

The reason it's blurry is for your "touch area". If the artwork was in focus the watch would think you're trying to navigate the artwork on the watch screen. With the blur the watch registers that you're using it as a touchpad for the Apple TV controls.
