TV Show Sync Problem

I've got some TV shows that I've ripped and put into iTunes. I don't want to store a whole season on the iPhone because there's just not enough room. I've tried telling it to get the 3 least recent unwatched shows which should work but it keeps missing 1 episode. I made sure it was marked as new but it won't pick it up. So then I decided to sync all unwatched episodes. It still missed the same episode. What's up?

What I'd really like to do is just tell it to do is have it sync the next 3 in order. They are in the right order in iTunes. Is there a way for this to work?

I would suggest using a Smart Playlist and customizing the options for number and order.
