The latest build from the public beta of tvOS 14 (released August 6th) downloads like normal but once the screen goes to the install process, Nothing happens and then it says that the update couldn’t install, to try later. The same build installed normally on Apple TV non-4K in another room. Tried to reinstalled Apple TV 4K from scratch, same problem occurring after reinstall.

Anyone else seeing that same behavior on Apple TV 4K from this week release?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info. Just retried it. Still Not working here. Maybe on Apple servers side today? Will retry in the next few days. It’s strange though, first time an Apple TV beta doesn’t install like that..

That’s very odd. All betas have installed with no issues for me. I wouldn’t have thought that it’s a server issue as once the update is downloaded it shouldn’t have to connect again to install?

Just to follow up.. had to start Apple TV 4K as new for the update to download and install normally. MY theory is that maybe it was lacking space to install? Since Apple Arcade, apps takes more space than before. It’s weird that if it’s that, there is no warning that that would be the cause.. Thanks to everyone for the answers. Knowing that I was alone in my situation made me decide to reinstall completely.

I’ve had this problem in the past. While on ios13. It was a space issue. I didn’t realize that my kids were downloading a ton of Apple Arcade games to the TV.

aside from not being able to iPads I was constantly being knocked out of apps that I had to log into (Netflix, infuse, Hulu).

I’m having an issue trying to install the beta on my Apple TV non-4K. I don’t see the option that says “Get beta updates”. I’ve seen it in the past when I wasn’t interested in the beta, but now that I am the option isn’t there. I’m signed in with the same Apple ID as I am on my phone with the iOS 14 beta. Not sure what else to do.
