tvOS 16.1 bricks the 2nd Generation Siri Remote. Mine is as dead as a doornail. Was working just moments before installing tvOS 16.1. The Control Center remote from iPhone works fine. But even after multiple restarts the Siri Remote no longer works. Nothing even happens when I plug the remote into power.

UPDATE: I finally got it to work. First I had to reset the Siri Remote, then I had to repair it with the ATV with tvOS 16.1.

As I stated in the other nearly identical thread someone posted, once a new tvOS installs it is followed a few minutes later by an update specifically for the remote. Until that update arrives and is finished installing, the remote might not work correctly. Sometimes the second update for the remote arrives quickly, sometimes it takes several minutes. Just be patient until you see the "Remote Activated" message appear on the screen. Apple has poop for brains these days as far as programming, so they need to fix that system of updating the remote, but they likely never will...

So, it was in fact not "bricked." ;)
