hi all,

I upgraded my macmini to 10.11.2 and my atv4 to 9.1. Now when I use my atv and try to browse my photos (using the computers app on atv), photos are not shown in the list when I connect to the mini via homesharing. Music and movies work fine.

Same issue if I try to select photos for the screensaver via homesharing. This was working fine before I upgraded.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have restarted everything both Mac, atv and network kit. I have switched off homesharing on my Mac and set it up again.

Good to know if other people have this issue before I spend any more time trying to figure it out.

Thanks.

Same here. Won't even accept sign in to Photos. When I sign in it immediately goes back to the sign in screen and I never see Photos.

Which photos app are you using? Photos or iPhoto or ? There is a setting to indicate what you want to share. I had not change mine after switching to Photos. Of hand can not remember where it is. Maybe Google if you do not know.

Im just using home sharing via the computers app (orange icon on home screen of atv). So this is using home sharing between Mac with iTunes running and atv. It works fine when I connect to my MacBook - I see music, movies and photos. When I connect to my mac mini I see music and movies only. Strange. Both Mac are setup the same and running same version of el cap and latest iTunes..

For the poster who is having trouble with the photos app, I think this only works if you have photos in iCloud.

My situation is different as I'm using home sharing.

Any other suggestions folks?

In iTunes under File / Home Sharing / Choose Photos to Share with Apple TV - What do you have? You should be able to select which Photo Application and which Albums and Photos and if you was to Include Videos. If you are using the New Photos App with iCloud Photos they should be synced on your Mac. Seems pretty powerful to me.

What I am hoping for is the Apple TV Native Photos App to work like all other platform Photo Apps. Meaning have full access to my iCloud Photo Library. Now I only have access to Shared Ablums.

Thanks. I have checked the share photos on Apple TV in the home share settings and they were fine. Set to show all photos.

I changed the home share setting to only share specific photo albums and it worked. Switched back to all photos and all is good now.
