Does this mean we would be able to have it mirror our iPhone? So if we receive an imessage that it will automatically show up on our TV as well and so forth?

I think it means, for example: mlb.tv can put up a notification saying your team scored a run even if you're watching something in another app, and Hulu can notify you that the next episode of one of the shows you watch is now available, etc.
