Twain-SANE on 10.8?

I'm posting this here because I'm not really sure where else to post it. I use Twain-SANE to drive my old canon scanner. I clean installed Mtn Lion and was surprised to see that they don't have a version out of the SANE back-end for 10.8 (at least not that I know of). Has anyone out there in the ether managed to get the SANE back-end and Mac OS GUI working on 10.8 yet?
 
Support for Canon scanners (from Canon) isn't very good in 10.8 - my LiDE 20 is simply shown as "not supported" in 10.8

However - the excellent VueScan, although a chargeable product, works perfectly, and allows me to use my scanner under Mountain Lion.

Yes its $39 USD, but possibly cheaper than a new scanner!
