I'm interested in a tweak that would allow me to disable lock screen SMS/iMessage previews but still allow the message to preview in the banner alert if I'm using the phone.

If anyone is familiar with something that can accomplish this I'd love to know. I've heard of LockMessages which is not supported on iOS 6 and I'd rather not use biteSMS if I can avoid it, even though I believe I read somewhere that biteSMS can accomplish this effect.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You should really look into bitesms, better sms/imesage plus you can disable the preview on alerts also lockscreen preview among other things.

Honestly the reason i jailbreak :) well i used to like lockinfo but now is not that good :)

+1. BiteSMS does this exactly. Both the senders name or content can be hidden on the lockscreen or unlocked or both if you want. Here's a pic of the settings.

What you are trying to do can be achieved by turning off "view in lock screen" under message notification settings

Thanks for the replies, everybody. I've heard a lot about biteSMS and would be willing to give it a try, but definitely not until the issues with MMS are resolved.

In the mean time, if anyone stumbles upon a standalone tweak for what I want to do, I'd love to know! Thanks #

For what it's worth, BiteSMS hasn't given me any problems or bugs with mms or anything else. I send mms almost daily both through iMessage and regular text. I'm using an AT&T 4S on 6.1.2. I can send mms to both iPhone users and non-iPhone users. Also, BiteSMS has a free, ad supported version if/when you are ready to give it a try. I love BiteSMS. I've always had a great experience with it. Plus the devs are constantly updating and improving it. If you hold off on installing it, just keep your eye on that other thread called "No mms with BiteSMS". If bite is causing this problem then you'll find out in that thread when a fix is issued. If its not bite, that thread will still tell you when it's "safe" to install. Good luck!

Good info. I believe I saw somewhere that the MMS issue could be due to iMessage server issues and could be carrier specific, but I read a lot of things today and don't remember where I saw that. I'll ride it out and see if the cause is finally discovered, and then go from there!

    Thanks for your help :D

This would be a really nice feature to have for a tweak.
