iPhone Tweaks to speed animations - do they improve the input problem?

Question for those of you who have used tweaks that speed up the animations (like speed intensifier, or noslownanimations):

Aside from making the animations finish faster, do they actually make your device respond more quickly to touch input after the animation? I've never used these, and so I'm trying understand how they actually work and the engineering behind them that hopefully improves the experience beyond just making it "look" faster without actually speeding up the interaction with the device.

I use them to speed up annoying things so I can get done what I want done faster.

For instance, the animation that occurs when you unlock your phone and the homescreen appears. If that is accelerated I get to my homescreen that much faster when I unlock my phone.

Are you truly able to begin swiping or tapping on the home screen much sooner than you would with the regular speed of the animations? I am trying to understand whether the speed up is a visual illusion, or you actually are able to interact with your phone sooner because it recognizes those gestures sooner. Example: if I unlock my phone and begin swiping right away, it'll ignore the first swipe or even two until all the animations stop. Then, I can finally select apps or scroll. However, if those animations were speeded up, would it actually begin to recognize my first swipe now immediately after unlocking because the animation is over X times faster? Or is it just a visual speed up but still doesn't accelerate the lagged interaction?

If you are looking for anything beyond anecdotal evidence I can't give you that. I do know that none of my swipes, first or otherwise are being ignored. And the animation is over fairly quickly as compared to the default.

Whether that would be a placebo effect or something you could replicate I don't know.

You can always try a tweak and if it doesn't work for you just uninstall it.

Another interesting topic! Eyoungren since you are using one can I ask which one? Hideme8 has the option but haven't tried it...

I just use springtomize and reduce animations all the way. Less clutter. All in one tweak

Those of you who commented with mentions of other tweaks - anyone want to weigh in on whether the tweaks actually made your device more responsive to touch input?

With hideme8 the apps do open faster but the 1st time the app still needs to load, every time after that its super fast and can swipe right away. When unlocking to home screen is faster and animations are faster. Initial loading of app for the 1st time isn't faster before you can respond though (for hideme8) at least...

Anecdotal evidence only. I believe when they came out people were testing speed for input lag and it was the same.
At the end if you believe the red car goes faster because is red then that becomes the truth for you. Placebo or not you can test it yourself and decide. GL

The speed up in Springtomize 3 seems faster than Speed Intensifier tweak, but that's just my opinion.

I use it as well and I have it set to the fastest speed. Just tested it now to see if I could start scrolling straight away after opening an app and obviously if the app isn't in the app switcher then you need to wait for it to open but if it is in the app switcher then yes as soon as the app opens then you can start using it. For instance with the setting app I can start to scroll immediately.

    You can call me Will

Doh, my signature was a bit of a giveaway.
