I’m trying to find an app where I can pay once. I don’t want to pay monthly to use Twitter. Currently using Tweetings which isn’t bad. Anyone have any recommendations?

Aviary , there is no way I'll pay a subscription .

There is Aviary. But there are issues with it that mar the user experience profoundly and the developer has not addressed them since the app’s inception. Clearly, doesn’t want to. So while Aviary is good, it is a lot of work and you might be better off with these minuscule subscriptions if you’re a heavy user of Twitter platform.

Twitter has video now? FFS.

Is everything just a copy of Facebook which is a copy of Myspace? Is any social network original anymore? Twitter was special thanks to text only 140 character posts. @ replies were a nice addition as was support of context via hashtags. It's all just 10 companies with the same features competing for the same eyeballs now. We need a new web revolution.

What is this ... ?

Macrumors comment of the year!
I had major iOS typo using voice to text & didn’t check it.

likewise on using the native Twitter app.

@mjardin (mark jardin) is a great visual artist, not to mention building this iOS business by himself from scratch.

What bothered me was when he /tapbots

Started removing previous paid versions in the app store when a new ios version was released. If you updated to ios you no longer could download the previous paid version of the app you paid for. This began with iOS 6 I believe; & if you wiped n rolled back your iPhone to the previous iOS the paid app was still gone.

This isn’t true, they are still accessible in your purchase history. Old versions are not allowed to still be on sale but are still available to download

The subscription pivot made me re-evaluate my attitude towards Tapbots.

The psychological barrier of knowing that small amounts of money are going out of my bank rather than a larger one-time payment, is enough for me.

The native iOS Twitter app is better than I remembered it to be, albeit with Ads, but most importantly, it feels nicer now IMO.

There’s also Fenix as an alternative. It’s also a single payment and well regarded.

Thanks for the tip! Will check this out.

Fenix by Matteo Villa, is that it? I couldn't find any website for it, so I want to confirm.
That’s the one.

I have it and the before mentioned Aviary as they were both cheap at the time I got them. I however don’t use Twitter enough to have a strong opinion of which apps the better subscription free choice as I don’t spend enough time in Twitter posting and the like.
