Was wondering how the new #4 is working on iphone and if its worth the upgrade? Also if i do a restore with a new phone will i have to purchase since it no longer shows in purchased apps?

I always recommend tweetbot. By far my favorite Twitter client. The only feature that is missing is a designated section that shows which tweets of yours were retweeted/favd... But everything else makes up for that. You shouldn't have to repurchase it though. Not sure what isn't showing up for you. That's something on Apples end. I've had the store glitch up a few times saying the app wasn't paid for but restarting my phone fixed that.

I have tweetbot 3 i was just wondering if its worth upgrading and if it will go away with a phone upgrade?

At the moment, for me, it's not worth upgrading.

The main timeline view hasn't changed other than allowing landscape view. Mentions and DM views haven't changed materially. Searches haven't changed. Profile view is nicer but I'm not sure if it's functionally different. Settings are streamlined.

The two big selling points for me, which are not quite enough to oust Twitterrific:

- Finally, and long overdue, granular mute filters that can be applied to searches and lists
- The excellent stats and activity view, far better than any equivalent in other clients

I was a diehard Tweetbot/Tweebot 3 user, and I still think it's a very nice app. But Twitterrific edges it for me on mute filters. Both have UI pros and cons - Tweetbot is more polished, allows images to be disabled, and has a better dark mode implementation but has some odd line spacing bugs (which have been in the last couple of versions too). Twitterrific has more font choices and (for me) a better menu bar implementation.

I upgraded anyways, just for safari view and for the iPad version. Can't say I find the activity pane useful though, as I am more of a lurker on Twitter.

Safari view makes it worth it for the iPhone. That way you can utilize your content-blocker(s).
This, but it also makes me realise how silly it is to put the "done" button at the top of screen, what with iPhones getting larger and all.

Agreed. At least place it in the upper-left corner...that way I can hit it with my thumb.

Hate that too, that and the omission of the swipe back to timeline.(Developer informed me that it cannot be implemented due to the Safari view).

I could put up with it if they moved the 'Done' to bottom left.

Went back to 3, but happy to use 4 on the iPad as the issue is irrelevant.

Well, at least there's reachability. I am willing to put up with the quirks of Safari view controller for now just for reader mode and ad-blockers alone.

Have used Tweetbot 3 for a long time now, remember buying it soon after it come out back then in 2013. Probably the only app I have spent my money on so far.

From what I see, Tweetbot 4 is mostly focused on iPad improvements, and doesn't bring a whole lot of changes for the iPhone app. Mostly the same functionality for iPhone.

Gonna stick with my Tweetbot 3 app for now on my iPhone.

So yeah, swipe back has been implemented. Lol, yay!

Peek & pop is in there too now. Very awesome indeed.

I use Twitter as news stream, so the activity doesn't really page doesn't help me.

I initially upgraded for the iPad app AND to support a great developer. This seriously is the best twitter app on any mobile platform ( I have tired most of them if not all the Noteworthy ones), followed closely by talon for android.

Now with the swipe back, peak and pop features; the upgrade is even more justifiable.

Honestly, if you want to continue to get great apps from developers like this, you have to support them. If you don't then you have to settle with official apps or third party, ad-filled apps.

Tweetbot 4 is great! Not sure if it's worth the upgrade if you don't have an iPad. The activity page is nice but it's not a selling point IMO. I mostly upgraded to support a great developer, iPad support and Safari View. Now with swipe back from Safari view it's even better!

The new 3D touch update is great for the 6S family.

I've gone back to the old Tweetbot on my iPad. I want the timeline and only the timeline. I don't care about an activity column and it's annoying to scroll through my timeline with it being there.
