Twelve South today announced the launch of a new product designed for the Apple Watch, the TimePorter. Described as a travel tote and portable charging stand, the TimePorter is shaped like an eyeglasses case with room inside a hinged compartment for an Apple Watch charging puck, a power adapter, and extra Apple Watch bands.

The Apple Watch charging puck fits into a slot at the top of the TimePorter, with the lid serving as a dock for the Apple Watch. Apple Watches can fit around the TimePorter vertically or rest on top horizontally. When opened up, the TimePorter turns into a multi-angle viewing stand. A cutout for the Apple Watch charger's cord allows it to be routed out of the side of the TimePorter for charging purposes.

This gorgeous capsule is both a case and a stand. TimePorter holds your charging cable, an extra Watch band, your USB charger and more in a neatly designed, silicone-lined case. Pop your charging disc into the integrated opening in TimePorter and drape Apple Watch across the top to charge. With Apple Watch resting on TimePorter, open the case to the preferred angle and TimePorter transforms into a viewing stand, perfect for viewing notifications and the time.
Black or white leather covers the exterior of the TimePorter, while inside, silicone covered cord wraps keep cords neatly coiled -- even the 2m Apple Watch charging cable. Twelve South says there's enough space inside the TimePorter to accommodate multiple USB chargers, extra watch bands, and a portable battery.

Twelve South plans to begin shipping the TimePorter in May for $49.99. Customers can sign up to be notified of its launch by clicking this link.

Great! Can't wait to put my round Apple Watch in it... Sorry but square is "square". And #Fadell nailed the round UI/design with Nest.

I was all in, until I got to the price.

Does it come with a charge cable? Seems like it should for that price, don't it?

Eyeglass holder with a hole in it, $50?

It's a 'plastic box', with a cord organizer.

Like on the Hermes band, this is overpriced, and deliberately so. Cha-ching?

I like the idea. I travel a lot with my watch and it's sort of a pain.

It might be nice if it held more 'stuff'. Plus I seem to always travel with the 12w power brick, not the slim power widget as I use it to charge my iPad, iPhone, and AW.

So this 'plastic box' wouldn't work well for me. It's the shortsightedness of some of these 'amazing products' that make it hard to justify them, and the cost. Is it adjustable somehow for the larger power brick?

Not bad. A bit pricy since I have to provide everything myself, but nice nonetheless.
Epic design fail. Why would I want to scuff my strap by tucking it under this thing?

Wouldn't the strap end make it wobble or tilt to one side? Maybe the link bracelet goes around the whole case. It's a good concept but overpriced for the features and limitations. I may try to make my own from an inexpensive sunglasses case instead.

I travel enough. I want space saving devices as I don't check in baggage (lost it one time too many). I carry three cables for the watch, iPad, and iPhone. The tuck in my backpack just fine. This case seems too big. It not like my watch will ever go inside.

If there was a portable device that charged my three toys with one single power block then I am interested.

looks cool if you travel a lot wish it held more bands though and included a built in charger

This concept is actually great for those who have two Watches, since one can be in the case charging while you wear the other. Then in the morning, just swap them out.

Wondering how to carry your *second* Apple Watch when travelling has to be near the top of the list of #FirstWorldProblems ...

When traveling, I store my Apple Watch on my arm, and the charger in my bag. And now, after months of perfecting, you too can purchase this technique, written on a sticky note, for only $25 plus shipping and handling. Call now! 1-555-MACDUKE. That's 1-555-M-A-C-D-U-K-E. Sorry, no CODs. Call now!

Cool concept, this would have come in handy on my recent vacation.

But for that price? Forget it. Like stated above, you have to provide the charger yourself, essentially making it a slightly modified glasses case with a hole. Plus, you can't even use nightstand mode with it. Pass indeed.

This case reminds me of my Sonicare toothbrush case.
