does anyone actually like these cases? They've been a bad meme since at least 2010. Also they impact thermals negatively.
Yes. MANY many customers love our BookBook. We wouldn't keep making them if there wasn't demand. In fact, our new BookBook Cover for iPad is a direct response to customer feedback asking us to make a case to hold *both* their iPad and attached Keyboard. But clearly BookBook isn't everyone's cup of tea. Thats why there are literally thousands of other case options - and memes... ;-)

Pre-Pandemic I'd be all this as I would be out and about. I usually carry my iPad in a shoulder bag, so weight would be as much as an issue that others have pointed out. Also, if they offered custom book titles that would be this Brit. Lit. lover's dream ;)
Great ideas... thanks for the feedback! I hope we all are able to be 'out and about' more soon. Cheers.

iPad's should be releasing soon. This is great.
If the overall dimensions are similar, BookBook Cover will still fit. Wouldn't it be cool if the same case can finally protect several generations of iPads? Fingers crossed.

The specs page on the Twelve South site does not indicate weight so they appear to want to keep this info secret as did Apple with the Magic Keyboard.
Good point. We will post the weight of our BookBook Covers today. Look for it in our Specs.

I own 3 iPads. They are all as naked as the day they were born. My Gen 1 does not have a scratch. My Air 1 does not have a scratch. My Pro 11 does not have a scratch. Natural, beautiful, built to be used, not to be hidden.

Still not seeing the weight info.

You're either Bear Grylls or a high school librarian. Hmmm, yeah I'm going with the latter.

Ironic, but I worked as an assistant camera operator on a production that involved Bear seven years ago. He’s a really good guy. I am a full-time adventure cinema photographer that spends the vast majority of the year on the road. I wasn’t joking around about using iPads pretty hard...they’ve been used in some pretty harsh environments and aside from overheating from being in the sun in hot environments, I’ve never had an issue with them and they stand up well to lots of abuse.

Never understood all of the coverings. One of the things I love about the iPad is the ability to use a product that is thin and lightweight. I have 3 different sizes of iPads and I don't use a case on any of them...just an Apple Smart Cover that I take off nearly every time they are in use. I use my iPads hard and in some rough environments too. And they have never received any damage worth noting. No case equals better thermal management, lighter weight, less bulk...everything the iPad was designed for!
You are lucky! I know people who have cracked the screen for transporting a laptop in a backpack, and dropped iPad and damaged it too due to no cover. Because of the price of the Apple device, such as $999 plus tax and up for MacBook Air, I recommend to friends to ensure it with a case or cover of some kind.

I certainly have been lucky and have never had an issue, but I can see the need for others to have good protective cases, etc...for sure.
