Twelve South today announced a new addition to its PlugBug charger lineup with the launch of the PlugBug Slim, a new 20W USB-C charger that's useful for travel with its thin design.

Priced at $24.99, Twelve South describes the PlugBug Slim as a space-saving charger that's 0.67 inches thick (17mm), so it better blends into the wall and fits into tight spaces where furniture might be close to an outlet.

The prongs of the PlugBug Slim are designed to fold down so that it can be tucked into a pocket or slipped into a bag or purse when on the go, and there's a small light at the bottom to let you know when your device is charging.

The PlugBug Slim is a GaN charger, and while there are many GaN charging options on the market now with compact designs, there are fewer that have focused on a slimmer profile for small spaces. At 20W, the PlugBug Slim works with the iPhone models and offers fast charging, charges up the iPad, and supports the HomePod mini.

Twelve South's PlugBug Slim can be purchased from the Twelve South website for $24.99.

The cable shown is USB-C to USB-C. My iPhone is lightning, my iPad is USB-C. Does this come with two diff cables or you supply your own for iPhone? misleading?
EDIT: Not even their website clarifies or states the length of the cable BAH!

I don’t think it comes with a cable. The USB C cable pictured looks to be the Apple USB C cable and it’s pictured with the iPad Air 4th gen, which does charge over USB C and with this device.

i love how its written no where that the cable is not included. I found a listing on amazon where its more obvious that its the plug only. Really misleading the way twelvesouth pictures it on their main site imo.

From the FAQ on the website:

Where can I buy the cable that goes with PlugBug Slim?
PlugBug Slim can be used with the USB-C cable that comes with your iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 12 (all models) or USB-C iPad. Need an extra? You can purchase from Apple.com.

Did people have trouble putting the slightly thicker Apple-supplied power adapter into a bag or purse? 🤨

This product provides slimness with no cost to functionality.

The vast majority of Apple products sacrifice some functionality for slimness.

Apple doesn’t supply adapters any more. Certainly not ones with folding prongs.

This is not the hill you want to die on.

That's why on the picture their USB-C cable conveniently disappears under the phone.

You are right! I just noticed that! On their website it says "For all your iOS devices". Yet, with the cable pictured, it will only work with a iPad which is iPad OS, not iOS and it says nothing about an additional cable for iOS devices. Kinda mis-leading if you ask me.

Kind of a bummer EU plugs never had that foldable action. Though ‘our’ 5W charger was extremely slim (just not in the socket).
I have a 5W foldable charger. It is very slim. I wish with GaN technology they could amp up the same to 15W or 20W.

This isn't powerful enough to charge a 2021 iPad Pro, right?
Why are you asking?

First:it's the same 20W as the original charger delivers
Second: you can even charge your MacBook Pro with a small 5W charger. It takes a few hours but it works.
Third: slower charging generally ends in a longer battery life, so you should charge your devices at full supported speed, only if really needed (thankfully, Apple had built in some intelligence in their charging electronics, to regulate the charging power based on your usual needs)
