What a lousy case. Almost no protection. Adhesive? That'll eventually get weaker? No thanks.

I'd rather overpay for a Smart Case. They're pricey but sleek, protect the device and are well-made.

SmartCase is worth every penny...you're not overpaying at all.

Yep, I have one. I'm surprised by all the bad reviews it has on the Apple site, especially the ones saying that it falls over easily.

If anything, the new Smart Case stands the iPad Air up a lot more securely than the older design did. The other one only took a breath of wind to knock it over; the new one stays up fairly solidly. I think people don't take the time to learn to use it properly.

I really don't see the need in paying $50/$60/$70 for a case. I've had a cheap plastic back cover from Amazon on my iPad and it's held up for almost 2 years now. I only paid $7 for it. Also have cheapo screen protectors on it as wlel which cost a couple bucks a piece. Especially considering the build quality of these, so called, premium items is questionable at best.

Bought one of these for the iPhone 5 and it promptly fell apart within a month.

They are very, very cheaply made despite how attractive their marketing is.

Their support has been nothing short of fantastic to make it right. You can even speak to a real live person to get help. Did you contact them about it?

Of course...that's hardly the point though, is it?

OMG Larry - if only it were that easy. There’s the BOM, then Landed Cost, then Inbound Shipping, Outbound Shipping, and Wholesale Cost... Then of course Overhead, Warehousing, Development (fun fact - these were ready to go months ago, then Apple added a little mic to the back… do over). What I can say is, we try very hard to ensure we deliver $69.99 of value to our customers who purchase this cover. We're def. not the cheapest, but we try to make the best stuff we can. Good question though. Hope this insight helps.

Which, when you add together, equals a total production cost to get it to market. The fact that this figure he's asking for is likely in the neighborhood of $3.48 explains your hesitancy to actually answer his question.

I don't mean to just be a dick by saying this, and it's not like that separates you from any other accessory manufacturer, but come on, why even bother addressing the question if you're not going to answer it?
