Twitch app frustrating with picture in picture

Does anyone else use the twitch app regularly?

I loved that the app previously, if you closed it, automatically switched to audio only mode. Then I could go about my business elsewhere on the phone or lock the phone, but keep listening.

Now, it tries to do the picture in picture and even if you push it to the side out of the way, consumes so much more battery and produces heat because it is video rather than just audio.

Is there a setting on the iOS level to change this behavior?

Set stream to Audio only before moving twitch to background

Disable Start PiP Automatically in settings Settings -> General -> Picture in Picture -> Start PiP Automatically

Thank you! Switching to audio only every time would be a pain, but turning off PiP will work nicely. Especially on an original X, it's too small for PiP I think.
