Twitter today announced that the Twitter for iOS app supports larger image previews in the timeline, which means tall images will no longer be cropped to a significant degree in the Twitter app.

Twitter has been testing larger-sized image previews on iOS and Android since March, but now the expanded image previews are rolling out for everyone.

Rather than displaying a cropped 16x9 version of a Twitter image in the timeline, Twitter will now show images with 2:1 and 3:4 aspect ratios in full as well. Larger-sized images are available on iOS and Android, but image previews on the web are still cropped.

Last month, Twitter also began supporting the viewing and uploading of 4K images on the Twitter for iOS app, allowing for higher-resolution images in the timeline.

What is the Max resolution for a 3:4 portrait orientation photo ?

3024 x 4032 is needed to support Apple's (& Google's) de-facto Back Wide image sensor.

Does twitter now support this ?

My 2015 MacBook Pro has power & other ports that Apple is just now bringing back !
Really? Like what? What on your old Mac is Apple bringing back? I don't see them bringing back an HDMI port. Because it's not needed with an HDMI to USB-C cable. I don't see them bringing back standard USB-A ports. Because it's not needed with a USB-A to USB-C cable. Nothing has been confirmed that they bringing back the antiquated SD card slot. Nothing has been confirmed that Magsafe is coming back. It's honestly unnecessary since charging is done through the Thunderbolt connector.

Twitter is an invasive company that tracks users, hence why I deleted my account.

MR, I wish you would disable the Twitter tracker on your website. Fortunately, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials blocks it for me.
Safari does this for me already. DuckDuckGo’s search is still abissmal, like Lycos or AltaVista heyday-era abissmal, and I want it to be better.

....the one thing I wish the official Twitter app had was the ability to sync unread timelines between devices - i.e. if you read twitter on an iPhone and then later read it on your iPad, the iPad timeline would auto scroll to the first unread tweet (I know other third party app do this but I'd like to see this in the official app!).

I’ve been on Twitter for over 10 years and I remember when this was a feature that they removed so it’s funny to me that they are touting this as something groundbreaking.

Twitter AREN'T,..its Macrumors touting this feature which Twitter previously removed! ?

I guess it's worth every company removing a feature, then re-adding it years later for free publicity, Lol

Define "hateful crap". Or are you for a general ban of anything you do not like?
I think they mean the verbal abuse and dog piling that occurs. At least that was my experience every time I've attempted to read something on the platform.

Not sure if I like this. It's precious screen estate. Would rather choose to open up an image or my feed will end up being two or three tweets at at time at times.

They are still better than FB and Google

Is Twitter still around?

And very popular, I am guessing user base has decline from previous years though.
