I recommend not rushing every unfiltered thought to the internet. If you want a public place to think out loud, you should expect a reply or maybe even criticism. Plus, plenty of career crazy journalist/bloggers do heavy damage to their reputation when they react to a poorly worded or ignorant tweet. Let the narcissism kill itself. Twitter is where the stupid hang out.The most compelling feature that is missing from Twitter is a dedication to freedom of speech. The only thing that will save Twitter is the purge of Social Justice Warrior thought police, starting with Jack Dorsey. These people are delusional to think that something as trivial as editing will make ANY difference in Twitter's abysmal situation. I recommend GAB for anyone who truly values free expression.

Jack Dorsey is a piece of garbage, you have this guy always challenging the first amendment. And secretly admires twitter being a vessel of hate and ignorance and people saying things they wouldn't say in real life. And not talking about this article- in relation to this article, doesn't really matter if twitter gets edit function, when it's out there it's out there. Can't have people unsee deleted or edited or modified re-posts

Yup, much better. It ensures the replies are all to the thing you posted in the format it was posted, not to something completely different. It's going to cause more confusion than it's worth.Deleting is better than editing.
Why not delete then repost a tweet if you realize you made a mistake? And then check more carefully next time.Freaking time. Just implement like a 30 secs window or sth

But if you sent it to someone and wanted to change something then you would change it and send a new copy of it rather than somehow trying to access the originally sent document to edit something in it.cuz i also dont delete and start over on a word document when i made a typo
Now that our president elect is tweeting instead of holding press conferences yes it is.The only reason not to allow editing is so that "gotcha" games can still be played. Is it sooo vital that a tweet be unaltered for historical reasons?

The tweets are hardly moderated as it stands, so I doubt very many people have a problem with that, and as much as I hate that people are so sensitive, the reality is that many customers want moderation. Is the lack of such a guarantee really what's jeopardizing Twitter? More likely it's just not a "cool" site anymore. The most compelling feature that is missing from Twitter is a dedication to freedom of speech. Not in that example (which applies to many people). You clearly don't use Google Docs or Microsoft 360.
