There are plenty of Facebook posts with thousands of responses. Not all Facebook posts are private.
The comments on those don't really matter. Almost all of them are just people tagging friends anyway. And there aren't "top comments" on those, so it's not like Twitter where someone with many followers has their comment seen widely.

Facebook has top comments (aka relevent comments). I'm not sure why people try to make excuses for Twitter. They could of solved this problem years ago but instead people make excuses for their poor management.

Relevant comments, not top comments. It's mostly not based on likes or follows (if you can even still follow on FB). You don't find random posts where the top comments are from celebrities, even if celebrities did comment on it.
