Twitter Dropping Handles and Media Attachments From 140-Character Limit Starting September 19

This did require reading a body of text longer than a single sentence so I can understand why it could have been missed by so many of our Twitter fans.

They should drop the extreme censorship and stop erasing every trending hashtag that goes against their political candidate of choice.

Twitter is anti-free speech, so Twitter can die in a fire.

They need to drop their bias too. Neutral purveyors of a platform, don't shape the events of the day. Otherwise Twister will eat their lunch.

This is a good change... It wasn't really fair since some twitter handles are waaayyyy longer than others, haha.

Now before someone posts the inevitable "now let us edit tweets" post...

Think about it. Someone tweets something, you retweet it, then that person edits it without you're knowledge. It can create a bunch of problems.

It wouldn't be that hard to handle, just do it like Facebook and preserve the edit history. They could also send a notification to people who replied and retweeted if a tweet is edited.

Not sure why they're still counting links when all the other stuff are not being counted. They might as well drop the link count, too.

Links tend to be much longer and if a lot of them are used it would probably just make things too long and messy.
