I never got the allure of Twitter. It just seems so stupid to me.... you're wasting your time reading useless soundbites from others, and are posting idiotic details of your own life that nobody cares about at all.

Do you have twitter? Who do you follow? Twitter is only what you make it by the people you follow. I enjoy sports and following certain people on twitter gives me more insight than I'll ever get watch the news or reading the paper.

I'm not saying this is the case with you, but I often find those that don't like twitter or think it's pointless are the same people that don't actually have twitter.

Edit: Also, pertaining to this update, seeing those symbols on every single tweet is really terrible. Bring on constant scrolling.

I actually did have Twitter. For two days. I followed all my favorite news accounts, and it was nice to have a centralized feed of <120 chars.

But then I was expected to follow everyone I had remotely known for the last 8 years. And they'd post the most stupid, blithely horrid posts I've ever seen. "OMG guys Saraaaahh iz mah bestieeeeeeee foreva love youhhhhhh" (wtf is up with the H's?) is pretty much the vernacular. What do you expect fresh out of teendom? I never expected REGRESSION, though...

Of course, if you only follow the news stuff and your own interests and use Twitter like a feed Flipboard, you're golden. But for me, by the third day, I was sick of the retarded One Direction and Justin Bieber trends in the "Now Trending" box and deleted my account.

Perhaps simply don't use the trending stuff that's out of the way anyway and don't follow people you don't care about following?
