Not me. If Twitter ever went to a fully-paid model, I'd leave. Not worth paying for.

I’m really on the opposite fence here. Once social media starts charging money instead of harvesting and using my data for their gains, I might reconsider joining them.

I probably wouldn’t join anyway, I’ve not used social media for years (except for forums like this of course) and I’m only missing out on ridiculous fights, extremists, pictures of other peoples food and sunsets. Oh and cats. I’ll live… ☺️

Unfortunately, it's much more likely that they will simply do both. I don't think the big social media / tech companies could not harvest and exploit user data if they tried...

Unless R. R. Martin start twitting the last book of GOT I don't find use to this yet.

Honestly brilliant business decision with OnlyFans banning adult content. And yet another great reason for me to continue avoiding Twitter. Five years clean from Twitter!

If they ban this feature for anyone that is considered politically Conservative, Twitter risks a potential lawsuit.
Not a lawsuit that would last past the first motion to dismiss. Twitter could openly ban people on the basis of politics if it wanted to.

As a Twitter shareholder, I appreciate the effort to generate additional revenue. As a Twitter user, I ain't paying anybody to read tweets. This is just going to turn into an OF alternative.

I honestly don't see myself partaking, but it reminds me of an experience I had.

I was at the cheap blackjack table when I was much younger and slightly less experienced. I had a pair of queens and the dealer was showing a 6. I split my queens because I thought I had a pretty good chance of winning both hands. I ended up losing not just my hands, but also the hand of a casino regular. She could not have been more upset. I thought to myself, if, instead of the $5 table, the cheapest one there, she played at the $10 table, she would virtually eliminate all of the idiots who don't want to play exactly as the book says you're supposed to.

Similarly, if there were a social media platform that charged even the smallest amount of money (and assuming it could reach critical mass – and I'm aware it probably couldn't), it would keep almost all of the idiots off of it.

Let's see... watch multi-million dollar productions on Hulu or HBO Max. Or watch a kid walk across stacked milk crates while eating spoonfuls of cinnamon? Tough choice.

Outside of people paying to see nude photos, in what universe are people going to pay 9.99 a month to see what a celebrity writes on twitter?

And yes I know, there are people that will definitely do it but I do not understand it.

Every site is going Only Fans. I think the sci-fi movies did a great job of portraying a dystopia where s$x will be available to the highest bidder.

I bet the RIAA and MPAA are frothing at the mouth to get all of their movies, artists and actors contracted behind the official paywalls so they can charge Twitter users $9.99 to get movie or music information, issue takedowns to anyone daring to hashtag information for free (because you wouldn't hashtag a car!) and then redirect all the subscribers to a website for an IAP to buy digital popcorn emojis at $100 a shot.

We are getting to the point of crazy with people charging to view tweet contents now? Sad sad times. All will implode soon.
Actually, not that crazy. Small Artists can benefit from this, having exclusive content for subscribers.

Of course, as already mentioned, many will use this as an alternative of onlyfans.
