Pocket/Read it Later

This update still won't get me to switch away from Twittelator Neue. I don't want to have to open up a link in order to add it to Pocket to read later. In TN I can add the link to Pocket right from the tweet.

I've got to hand it to Twitter. They continue to make they app slower and clunkier with each update. 3 updates ago was the biggest flop and now I'm really pissed at myself for installing this piece of crap. And there was no need for the new logo. I only continue to use it because it's free.

Great app, why all the hate?

Because it's utterly wretched compared to 3.x?

Wasted screen estate, poor layout, terrible transitions (no swipe transition when you swipe? FFS), removal of useful shortcuts, removal of translation, considerably worse multiple account support, burying direct messages in favour of the entirely pointless discover tab, inability to copy and paste specific words from tweets...

Literally every single change has been for the worse, and they still haven't fixed any of the things that people actually wanted fixing like missing functionality.

Where is list management?

The new app is an improvement, especially with the user-specific push notifications. That is something I've wanted for a long time.

However, list management (editing and adding users to my own lists) is non-existent. Even getting to my lists takes several "clicks." Tweetbot and Echofon are far superior in this regard.

I sure wish there was one client with all the features I want, but sadly, that still doesn't exist! Tweetbot is the closest I've found. If Tweetbot would add user-specific push notifications, I would be thrilled.

Push notification per user is not working on mine. I'm only posting this in case anyone is baffled by why it's not enabled on their iPhone.

The notifications section shows that I have spotlighted 15 people to receive notifications for - yet when I navigate into the tweets detail it shows "You haven't selected anyone".

Too late for me, I moved to TweetBot and I've been much happier since. :) I still use the original Twitter app on my iPad, so I may try it there however.

same here. i just hope that 3rd party apps don't get the axe from Twitter. i'd have to have to go back to their app after enjoying Tweetbot. also it seems that their Mac app has become abandonware.

Has the Home Screen icon changed for other people? It hasn't changed for me.

EDIT: I deleted it and re-installed. Got the new icon.

Is there any way to auto update and keep the recent tweets at the top of the screen rather than having to scroll up all the time?

Tap the status bar at the top of the screen to scroll to the top automatically.

still using 3.2a, the last version before the dickbar and the removal of bit.ly and stuff, and i love it. go back to 3.x if you can, it almost feels as good as using tweetie.

How many are people getting notifications for when it comes to a person tweeting? currently got 9. Dont want anymore...will kill battery otherwise.

Yeah, that's not really the same is it . . .

I like to leave Twitter open by my side and watch as the tweets roll in whilst doing other tasks and to have to keep reaching over to tap the screen is a bit of a pain. This is where TweetBot wins for me.

The picture aspect ratio for the new twitter app

Did anyone notice that the aspect ratio seems longer?
The picture where they show off what he app looks like looks similar to the new aspect ratio of the iPhone 5...

I really wish they would release Tweetie 2 again, that app was beautiful. Why did Twitter bother buying it out in order to destroy the design and make it awful?

With the recent Twitter move and fear of 3rd party apps, does anyone know if Tweetbot is still developing Tweetbot for iOS? Is the Mac desktop app still in development? Tweetbot is frankly the best client out there. Twitter should just buy them and keep them separate to develop their mobile apps.

Does anyone know how to get the individual tweet notifications to work on iPad? they work on iPhone no problem, but I can't find the setting on the iPad.
Thanks,
