    Free: [app=Twitterrific]itunes link[/app]

    Premium (on sale): [app=Twitterrific+Premium]itunes link[/app]

Just saw it pop up in app store updates.

    Nearby feature (finally)
    Different color themes.
    Multiply account tracking.
    Trends
External Sites and apps integrated. (yfrog, TwitPic, Posterous, Twitgoo)
Refresh Scroll (i used to hate having to scroll through 200 twits after not using my ipod for a few days. xD)

I'm really liking this update. :)

Edit: because some people don't read the full thread, Twitterrific Premium is on sale for $3.99 US, and 2.99 euro. Just bought mine. :)

    Double edit: added links

Tripple edit: follow me :D stephan213

Quadruple edit: Twitterrific has 2 r's. *rollseyes*

oh and I'm an idiot, because I was looking at the size of the app, not the version number. Geesh

holy snap! If this thing is stable (as it seems to be) it has just officially replaced tweetie. I now no longer regret spending that ten bucks.

For the luff of me I can't find the settings...

I'll bide my time until they release an updated version for 3.0 with push. Until then, I'll stick to SMS for my tweeting needs. :)

I liked tweetie, but it didn't save your tweets which wasn't quite a deal breaker, but since Twitterrific is much prettier AND it saves tweets and is now just as functional the choice is pretty obvious.

Is there a big difference between the free and the paid version of Twitterific?
I'm watching it on appsniper to see if it ever goes on sale.
If all that changes are the ads, then I don't see a point in paying for it. :S
I do love this update though.

You mean "saving" for offline viewing? Otherwise, not sure what you mean, i'm able to access past tweets from tweetie.

I have all the tweet apps and tweetie is still the one for me. Even after twitterrific's update.

Not to mention since twitterrific's release back in Aug 2008, they have only had 2 updates prior to this 2.0 update, and the last update was a bug fix update (i.e. x.x.1 release). This to me is a pretty crappy, to the point where it doesn't seem as if the dev is really spending the time to improve their app. Contrast that with Tweetie which has had 5 updates since its release in Nov 2008. And Tweetie had features long before twitterrific. In fact, Twitterfon has had more features and a more appealing UI then Twitterrific and 15 updates since its release in Aug of 2008 and it's FREE with no ads, unlike the free twitterrific.

I've been using tweetie since the day it came out and have been using twitterrific for a few hours. Here's what I noticed:

-UI design fantastic (better than tweetie's) though not as easy you use as tweetie. A flaw with tweetie is that the refresh button is at the beginning and end of posts instead of having it's own section

-it seems to only show at most 100 tweets while I can go much further back in time with tweetie

-uses double and triple taps to add marks and favorites

-has built in url shortners, condenses sentences, and adding quick look to a reply which are not in tweetie for iPhone but it is in it's desktop equivalent that has just been released.

Right now twitterrific has more features and a better GUI but it is harder to use than tweetie because they have icons I haven't seen before. Tweetie has said that the desktop verion will serve as the next step for the 2.0 iPhone version so they will have more things to come. For now I'd call it a push.

I have been using Tweetie as well. I do like the UI of Twitterific better though. I will try them both for a few days and see which one I end up liking better.

I've always liked the UI of Twitterific more than the other twitter apps, but felt that the features of the free version were really limited, and couldn't justify the price tag of the premium version. I really have no complaints with this version so far though, all the features that I had wanted from the previous premium version - as well as a fair few others - have been added and work flawlessly; definitely a great update. I can't see myself using another twitter app any time soon now.

I've also noticed that you can't see who's following you or who you're following. The same goes for other people. I liked being able to do that on tweetie. Oddly enough tweetie for mac doesn't seem to have the same feature. Follow me: str1f3

Can be summed up in 2 sentences imho.

    Way better than Twitterific 1.x
Still not as good as Tweetie

Been testing it all weekend. Nice changes, especially the search functions. But it also has kept crashing on me, even after a phone restart; and at times, it just times out and doesn't post a tweet.

    Tweetie remains far superior.

My only ish with it is:
I can't see my own posts, it says that my "Updates [are] Protected". Duh, but I should be able to see my own posts.

and I can't see the people other people are following.

Try clicking the far-right button when looking at your timeline and then clicking on the person in the toolbar that shows up. There's your timeline. I know you should be able to see it the other way but that might be a Twitter API restriction. - edit: maybe that doesn't get you all your updates - maybe only ones from within the app. I don't know...

I'm entirely pleased with the app. Paid for the premium version because it's apparent they put some time and effort into this app. But I haven't yet removed Tweetie from my iPhone because the 2.0 update should be out this summer for it and it most likely will overtake Twiterrific 2.0 in features.

Hey, just a quick question about Twitterific 2.0. Does anyone know how to begin following someone in this app? I cant seem to figure out how to follow someone new. I can unfollow and block existing people, but how do I ADD someone I want to follow???

    Method 1:
Select a tweet from your timeline. Click the asterisk button. From the pop-up menu choose Author. From there, you can follow or block.

    Method 2:
Go to the Sources screen, and choose "Quick Search". Where it says "From Screen Names", enter the username. Click the Search button. Enter the username, and then the Asterisk button. From the pop-up menu click the Author button. From there you can follow.

Not exactly simple, is it?

Oh. Yeah. Thanks. And no. Not that simple. What is the difference between "From Screen Names" and "To Screen Names"??

Not that difficult. Just tested it out, and am surprised you just didn't test it yourself.

From Screen Names" means you're searching for tweets made by that person.
ie. Searching for Stephan213 under "From Screen Names" displays all tweets made by yours truely. ;)

"To Screen Names" means you're searching for tweets made TO that person.
ie. Searching for "Dan" under "To Screen Names" displays all tweets made by anyone @Dan. Dan is very popular.

PS. I did search for Stephan213, but didn't find any tweets. Nobody writes me. :(

Doesn't surprise me. It's obvious he doesn't want to put much effort into finding out the answers to his questions but just wants people to give him answers. For goodness sakes, he posted the same exact question in two different threads and when it was answered in one thread, and someone told him that the answer was in the other thread, he had the nerve to more or less ask for a link to that thread!!!
