So Twitter wants 3 bucks a month to offer something every other social media platform already does for free?
Lol get bent, Twitter. Keep reminding me why I haven’t wasted a second on you in years.

I wonder how would pay for a service you don’t really need.
Almost everything I pay for is stuff I don’t need. You must lees a Spartan life if that’s not true for you. Makes me wonder what you’re doing on a site dedicated to rumours about luxury electronics.

All of these features should be FREE, just like how new facebook features and updates are always free (not that I like nor support Facebook's huge privacy invasions)

The internet and apps are just getting ridiculous now -requiring subscriptions for virtually every service. 10 years ago in the early iPhone days I still remember how almost every app, including the latest and hit games like Temple Run, Fruit Ninja etc, were completely free. There was virtually no paid apps.

Hmmm, I’m so out of it that I didn’t even know the term “Tweetstorm” nor what it even means... is it like a war of people twitting each other or ganging up to throw tweets at someone for doxing, canceling, exposing, punishing? So, like, normal Twitter?

This is definitely extreme, but maybe if replies were also behind a paywall a lot of the chaotic nature might go down too... as it is my understanding that the seeming anonymity, no real consequences (i.e. get banned open a new one), scream as loud and as many times for free, etc contributes to it being such a horrible place. For me at least, I used to get mad the few times I used to browse... no need for it in hindsight.

pay $3 a month for a toxic cesspool of misinformation and hate!
Only if you are a leftie can you get by with what you say. Otherwise if you’re a Republican and or conservative (no I’m not talking about right wing or neo nazis) then poof! Away you go. I never got twitter anyway. I have a family and friends. Facebook was great for keeping in touch with relatives that live back in the southeast but now I try to stay off Facebook for the most part now and just use messenger (yes I know it’s Facebook messenger) but at least I can fire off a message send a few pictures and not have to deal with a ton of stupid ads. If messenger becomes a subscription service that will go bye bye as well.

I don’t use Twitter enough or have any influence to justify needing or paying money for that functionality. For influencers, politicians and celebrities, it could be a huge benefit. But are there enough to make it generate good revenue, I think not.
My 300+ followers don't seem to see everything I write but they can live with an extra tweet, if necessary.

Now, if there was an automatic IQ check for those replying to my tweets and a related notification or block, I might be willing to pay for that. 🤣

are loving this news. Enjoy your ****ter my dudes!

If they offered a tier with no ads I’d bite but this tier seems wholly unnecessary.

The beginning of the end of Twitter - I love it! Now have the same thing happen to all social media and watch how much better the world becomes.

Both collections and delayed posting (undo) sounds like something any dev could just implement into a third party client easy enough without needing to pay a Twitter subscription for the privilege. Sure, the collections would be specific to the third party app but I’m guessing many people use a single app anyway.

They need to make up for lack of ad tracking revenue. Expect to see more of this. Offer features users “may” want and hit them with a sub. Of course, the more sinister version, is not only hitting a user for a sub, but require ad tracking for features like this to work.

I'm a dumb one who pays for youtube premium (no ads) but i use it daily (asmr videos to relax).

I don't even use FB or Twitter so....bahhhh

I love YouTube Premium, really enjoy not having ads on it.
People still use Twitter?

Nothing but a far left cesspool of hatred.

You don’t have to follow the hate, I think it’s great that you can curate the news coming to you.
