Let me guess, it will magically relaunch a few weeks after it has been down just like flappy bird, wonder how much was paid for this?, as per usual MacRumors reporting on nothing exciting.

Yeah, Twitter shutting down an app is completely unrelated to any Flappy Bird type of drama.

Twitter is finished imo. Consumers don't want it.

For me, it's not necessarily that I don't *want* it. I don't *get* it. There may be value there - I just don't understand what it is.

Holy smoke, it's not like the Mac version of iTunes is that good. It used to be, but used to be's don't count any more.... :(

I still like iTunes WAY better than the Music app on iOS (which, in my opinion, is basically unusable).

That's like claiming the Windows version of iTunes is any good.

Which is a little like suggesting that the OSX version of iTunes is any good.

Let’s be honest. The only reason people ever used iTunes was because they wanted to use an iPod. And now because it’s the easiest way to buy music. Not because it’s a great piece of software.

I installed this when it came out and though it could be good, but so many tracks I clicked on popped up "unavailable" (or words to that effect) made the app pretty much useless and got uninstalled pretty quickly.

Speak for yourself. I used iTunes for years before I finally got an iPod (4th-gen iPod Touch). And guess what? The iPod is now collecting dust in a drawer, and I'm still using iTunes.

Is iTunes perfect? No. But as I said earlier, it's still way better than the buggy mess that is the Music app in iOS 7.

I use iTunes to buy movies and TV shows and music. 99% of what I do on iTunes has nothing to do with my iPad or iPod. I only sync those a few times a week.

I have nearly 3,000 TV shows and over 200 movies that I've bought in iTunes since 2007.

Right. Which is why I said that now we use it because it’s the easiest way to buy music (and other content, I suppose I left visual media out.)
