Two app requests to improve my workflow

Hi,

I'm looking for two apps to improve my workflow. I hope someone can help me in the right direction.

1. Is there a way/app to control an app using keyboard shortcuts without selecting that specific app? An example: I would like to reload Chrome/FF without having to select the browser first.

2. I was also wondering if there is an app that allows you to automatically set up a specific workspace. By this I mean an app where you can open apps (and set the window size and maybe even execute specific actions like opening a few pages in a browser) by activating a setting like "study" or "webdesign". I hope I've described it clear enough..

You could create an AppleScript for each "Workspace".

AppleScript can do that for you. It's an easy scripting language that becomes quite handy to know to create your own workflow.

EDIT: hmm, apparently Firefox isn't very AppleScript friendly.
